Don't use Google Calendar? No problem!
We will guide you step by step to create a Google Calendar bridge. Don't worry, once setup, you won't need to see the Google Calendar again.
We will show you how to link your existing calendar to the Google Calendar so Cohezy can find free time for you as well as others in your circle.
Step 1: Create Your Google "Bridge" Account
Cohezy uses Google to identify "Busy" blocks without seeing your private details.
- Visit Google Signup.
- Follow the prompts to create a free account (e.g., yourname.cohezy@gmail.com).
- Once created, you are ready to link your primary calendar below.
- Go to cohezy.app or open the Cohezy app.
- Go to Settings.
- Click Connect Google Calendar and follow the prompts to link your new bridge account.
Step 2: Link Your Primary Calendar
Pro Tip: Once this is set up, you never need to open the Google Calendar app again. Cohezy will "silently" respect the events you add to your primary calendar.
Apple iCloud / iPhone Calendar
- Open the Calendar app on your Mac or visit iCloud.com.
- Click the "Broadcast" icon next to the calendar you want to share.
- Check the box for Public Calendar.
Note: This makes your calendar readable via the link, but your events are only visible to anyone who has this specific URL. Cohezy never shares this link. - Copy the URL that appears (starts with webcal://).
- In your new Google Calendar, click the "+" next to "Other calendars" and select From URL.
- Paste your link and click "Add Calendar."
Office 365 / Outlook.com
- Log in to Outlook on the web.
- Go to Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings.
- Select Calendar > Shared calendars.
- Under "Publish a calendar," choose your calendar and select "Can view all details" (Cohezy still only sees "Busy").
Note: If the Publish option is greyed out, your organization may have restricted calendar sharing. Contact your IT department. - Click Publish and copy the ICS link.
- In Google Calendar, select From URL and paste the link.
Other Calendars
Using a different calendar? Most calendar apps can export an ICS link that Google Calendar can subscribe to. Contact us and we'll help you set it up.
